Adele + Guy

Mr. & Mrs. Steib

Our Lady of Prompt Succor | Family Home

Married: May 29, 2020

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade was the saying that rang throughout the day! This wasn’t the day that Adele & Guy had planned but they took what was thrown their way and made the best day ever!!!

Adele & Guy are such a precious couple.  Their laughter and love for each other shines through every time I am around them. They are truly perfect for each other.  Adele has really found her soulmate and I couldn’t be happier for her.

Adele & Guy were married at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Thibodaux, LA. Father Bennie made sure to make the ceremony special for the couple.  The wedding was even live streamed for family and friends that were not able to attend.  My favorite part was they had their first dance under the awning of the church.

The reception followed to Adele & Guy’s home.  It was the perfect Louisiana Friday Night; a cool breeze, swamp pop music, boiled crawfish and ice-cold drinks.  I was so excited to capture Guy carrying Adele over the threshold of their home.  I loved what they put together in such a short time. It really was the perfect reception.

I loved their wedding day so much.  It will be a day that I will never forget.   Here are a few of my favorites from this beautiful day!  I hope you enjoy!

Blayne + Bryant

Mr. & Mrs. Naquin

St. Anne Catholic Church | Krewe of Aphrodite Hall

Married: January 31, 2020

If I’m counting right, this is my third high school senior that I have taken portraits for that gets married. It really is such a blessing to be given the opportunity to photograph another milestone is someone’s life. I met Blayne back in 2016 and I fell in love with her, her Mom and grandmother back then. It has been so fun to experience this joyous time with all of them.

Blayne & Bryant were married at St. Anne Catholic Church in Bourg . Father Cody officiated the ceremony and did such a great job with getting to know the couple. The church and reception were packed with guest to celebrate this precious couple. DJ James got the party started quickly and everyone was ready to dance the night away.

We had such a great time with Blayne & Bryant. We had so much fun seeing familiar faces and new ones too. Here are a few favorites from this fun evening. We hope you enjoy!

Elizabeth + Zackary

Mr. & Mrs. Harrington

St. Bernadette Catholic Church | Cypress Columns

Married: January 11, 2020

First wedding of 2020 and I couldn’t think of a more perfect couple to start the year with.  The girls started the day off at the newly remolded Courtyard Marriott in Houma.  I love walking into a bridal suite and seeing familiar faces.  I was welcomed with hugs and these girls were ready to get the party started.

What started out as a yucky morning, turned into a beautiful day.  It was the perfect winter wedding.  Elizabeth & Zackary were married at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. I loved how the church was still decorated for Christmas.  Many Catholic churches will leave up their nativity displays until this coming Sunday, which is celebrated as the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord on the Sunday after Epiphany, which this year is Jan. 11th (Elizabeth & Zackary’s wedding day).

The reception followed to Cypress Columns in Gray.  Family and friends were so excited to celebrate the newlyweds. Mrs. Sue at Cypress Columns informed us of a new fountain installed on the property.  We took the couple out for a little fun and as soon as we started photographing, fog began to thicken.  We got some really amazing shots and had a blast.

We had so much fun with Elizabeth and Zackary.  It was so fun getting to see past clients and it was such a blessing to be a part of this day.  Here are a few of our favorites from this amazing day!  We hope you enjoy!

How long have you been taking pictures?

I have had a lot of people ask me this question lately, and I never know how to answer it.  How long have you been taking pictures?  Photography has been a part of my life since I was a teenager.  My family always had a camera.  I cannot think of a family function or vacation where we don’t have tons to pictures to look back on.

In high school, I was involved in yearbook and multimedia.  After high school was over, I thought I wanted to be a dentist.  After a year of biology, I knew dentistry was not my calling.  I remember sitting down with my Dad, crying that I hated college.  He told me; college is supposed to be fun!  Take some classes that you think you will enjoy.  Don’t worry about finishing in four years.  Do something that will make you happy.  So, in 2000, I took a photography class and quickly switched my major to Art with a concentration in photography.

Here is a little fun timeline of the last 23 years…

1997 – 1999 Yearbook and Multi Media at South Terrebonne High School

2000 – Switched major to Art with a concentration in photography

2001 – Married my high school sweetheart (June makes 19 years )

2003 – Started freelancing for the Houma Daily Courier.  1st assignment made the front page. (My Granny has it framed in her house still to this day)

2004 – Started second shooting for Cameron Gillie Photography

2004 – Photographed my 1st wedding for $50.

2006 – Graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelor’s degree in Art

2007 – Officially went into business

2008 – Became a Mom!! (1st child born in October)

2011 – 2nd Child born

2014 – Purchased my studio on Lafayette Street in Houma

2018 – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Studio

2019 – Won Bayou’s Best of the Best, Won The Knot Best of Weddings, Won Top Rated Local in Louisiana & published in Cosmopolitan Magazine.

In that time, I have photographed 272 weddings and have been in business for thirteen years.  The last 23 years has been a blast.  I’m so grateful for this gift that God has given me.  I hope that I’m blessed with another 23 years.
